She Must Make Art: Garden Blooms Collection Releases Soon, Spring 2020. Artist blog and original watercolor artwork.

Garden Blooms Collection Releases Soon

I am so ready for spring. Montana spring is full of the occasional snow. Gardens full of peas and lettuce will be a welcome sight. And flowers. I am excited for flowers. The year 2020 has brought so much unpredictable and strangeness for daily life. So while we might be feeling impatient for some beauty in the garden, I can bring you some blooms earlier than they will bloom locally. Color so vibrant and touches of playful watercolor effects are on the way. They are titled, in my art…

Unexpected Days to Ponder, new post on the blog. How the COVID-19 has affected me and how I have been distracted while I stay at home. Facemasks and sourdough bread projects.

Unexpected Days to Ponder

I cannot say that I grasp it at all. This is a year of the unexpected and a lot has been changed quickly. So much is a blur to me. One day meshes with the other six in the week and I cannot clearly remember one from the others. The way we have all had to rethink life and change our way of living without much opportunity to prepare is incredible. I have seen all the preparedness public announcements and always wondered 1) the chances of that much emergency planning being necessary and 2) what…

Popping in to say hello!

Hello from the studio! It's been a long while, I know. I have been going in so many directions, not only with art studio activities, but with home and family as well. There's so much to be done in this off season...and the weeks are flying by. By the second half of March, I will be returning to nannying full days and that lasts until September. With my most recent art sale, just three days ago, the buyer mentioned she enjoys my blog. Well, the blog has been so far off the list, it's nearly…

Taking Time To Stretch In The Art Room

What I should be doing every day. It's one of my biggest challenges. Stretching and taking care of my body is definitely important. Too much sitting and concentrating takes a toll on my body. Lost in thought, intently focused on a painting, I don't want to stop for anything. Is there any chance you know where I am coming from? Why do we do this to ourselves? Today, it might be a good idea to focus on how you and I can take better care of ourselves with some body stretching breaks. I've got…

My Big News: My Website Has Launched!

My Website is Live I'm doing a happy dance! One of my big art goals is now reality. It's been a test of my courage. I hesitated as we do so often, afraid of the unknown. Feeling out of my element and knowing that I am running out of time for this to happen, it would mean a lot of hard work. It wasn't as scary as I made it out to be. Will you share 30 seconds with me and go check it out? I would love for you to see my artwork. While you are there, sign up for my newsletter! I'll let you know…

Is it time to begin selling my art online?

My time is running out...website coming. It's nearly spring and that means I will be returning to my other job (joy, really) as a nanny. Spring through fall, I have a dream position caring for the three children of a local family. As the time approaches, I am carefully taking stock of what I would like to accomplish with my art career. With just a few weeks left, I am looking over priorities. I am preparing to debut a website of my own for my watercolor artwork. Artwork is being photographed…

Writing My 2019 Artist Goals

Writing My 2019 Artist Goals

It's that time again. I have been stalling on this one. It seems like a huge project. Once I get started, I feel more excited. Maybe it seems daunting but in reality, it's such a good thing. I have a folder labeled "GOALS" which is where I keep my art goals from previous years. 2015. That's the year I made my first list of art goals. Each year, I make a list of art related goals I haven't reached yet. The list contains some of what I didn't finish the year before and more that I can imagine…
