“You’ll often see beds of flowers at the end of vineyard rows," said resident photographer Richard Duval. "It’s not just for the aesthetic appeal - though that certainly is pronounced. Plants also act as insectaries which can improve biodiversity and aid in pest management. Visiting Tapteil Winery, I captured a hard working rose garden and lavender bed that rings this beautiful Red Mountain vineyard.”

Funkadelic Syrah, from Sleight of Hand Cellars, was one of the highlights of my recent trip to Walla Walla. Serious "funk" (the good kind) on the nose, really well structured wine, and a looooong finish. Sleight of Hand Cellars is a great place to stop, taste through a fabulous line-up of wine, and geek out over a great collection of vinyl records.
