Tauba Auerbach, Tetrachromat, Bergen Kunsthall, Norway, 2011. In these paintings, she twists and folds the canvas, ironing or pressing it so that the creases become embedded in the material. After some time, the creased canvas is spread out on the floor and sprayed at oblique angles with various colors of paint. The result – after the paint has dried and the canvas has been stretched flat – is an almost perfect registration of the previous three-dimensional condition of the same surface.

Oyster Interview: Viviane Sassen | Fashion Magazine | News. Fashion. Beauty. Music. | oystermag.com
Viviane Sassen is principally known as an artist, whose strikingly colourful photographs of Africa won her the Prix de Rome in 2007. Alongside her autonomous work, however, she has long established a name for herself as a prolific fashion photographer. Viviane Sassen / In and out of fashion, exhibited at the Huis Marseille Museum for Photography in Amsterdam (15 December 2012 - 17 March 2013), is a retrospective of her fashion oeuvre, bringing together 17 years of work in the fashion world.

Félix González-Torres, "Untitled," 1991. Billboards displaying the artist's photograph of the empty, unmade bed that he shared with his partner, Ross Laycock, appeared in 24 locations across New York City, May 16 - June 30, 1992. González-Torres' piece became one of the more sober political statements made concerning the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Seen as a particularly haunting image of the banality of what is really lost when we lose those we love; and a bleak forecast for too many at the time.
