A new report by the Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre (IDMC) of the Norwegian Refugee Council shows that 63 per cent of these IDPs were just from five countries: Syria, Colombia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria and Sudan. The number of Syrian refugees in Lebanon passed the 1 million mark this week. Refugees from Syria now equal almost a quarter of the resident population. "The Lebanese people have shown striking generosity, but are struggling to cope. Lebanon hosts the highest concentration of refugees in recent history. We cannot let it shoulder this burden alone," said UN High Commissioner for Refugees António Guterres. More:
