To do this joining stitch you take two granny squares with right sides together. Into one of the 3DC clusters, insert hook into the space between the 1st and 2nd DC and draw through wool, make a SC into this space, then make another SC into the space between the 2nd and 3rd DC, cut and tie off wool.
