Definitely on my travel bucket list - the swing at the “End of the World” in Baños, Ecuador
Hiking up the path to Bellavista from the edge of Baños, Ecuador, you reach a viewpoint and a seismic monitoring station named La Casa del Árbol (The Treehouse). As the name suggests it’s a small house built in a tree, at the edge of a canyon. The view from up here alone is worth the trip, but for adrenalin junkies, La Casa del Árbol offers a unique bonus – a swing hanging over the precipice.
The swing at the “End of the World” in Baños, Ecuador | At the edge of Ecuador sits a rickety tree house (casa del árbol) overlooking an active volcano in the near distance. With it comes a swing with no harnesses, inviting only the bravest of risk-takers to experience a killer view. | 27 Surreal Places To Visit Before You Die |
Sea of Stars on Vaadhoo Island in the Maldives / 27 Surreal Places To Visit Before You Die via BuzzFeed

Bucket List. To see this!! Doug Perrine captured these stunning photographs in the Maldives. The particular location (Vaadhoo Island) has a concentrated population of bioluminescent phytoplankton. Bioluminescence is a natural chemical reaction which occurs when a micro-organism in the water reacts with oxygen. When washed ashore by the tides, the phytoplankton’s chemical energy is turned into light energy, illuminating the waves.
It may look like an alien life-form has washed up on a beach, but this striking neon blue effect is a completely natural phenomenon. The incredible image was taken by photographer Doug Perrine during a visit to Vaadhoo, one of the Raa Atoll islands in the Maldives. It captures a natural chemical reaction called bioluminescence, which occurs when a micro-organism in the water is disturbed by oxygen.
Bioluminescent Bay This uniquie bay in Puerto Rico contains single celled bioluminescent organisms which emit a flash of blue light when agitated at night. The waves hitting the shore, a shell tossed into the water, kayaking or just taking a swim, will cause this beautiful water to glow a neon blue. It is a gorgeous natural phenomena and occurs in three areas in Puerto Rico.
Bioluminescence from glowing plankton in the tide line wash onto the beach, with stars above and a ships lights on the horizon in the Indian Ocean on Vaadhoo Island, Raa Atoll, Maldives. A GLOWING shore line looks more like a galax-sea than an Earth-sea. Taken in the Maldives this lit-up beach is brighter than the milky way thanks to the tiny creatures that live inside the sea water. Caused by an effect called bio-luminescence microscopic organism reacted with oxygen in the water to produce l
