Most of the books in the section feature a black background and a single picture or phrase in the center. It just gives that necessary effect of depression and mystery. Without the eerily crude cover design with a blood spatter, Jo Nesbo’s book may look like a Christmas tale or something. But it’s actually a crime novel involving gruesome murders.
I truly recommend listening to this story on CD. Jodi Long (the reader) has a real talent when it comes to telling stories. She brings the story alive and pulls you in with her voice. This is a love story and although it is set long, long ago it's message transcends to present day. Highly recommended as is Sunflower and the Secret Fan, another story by Lisa See.
This one is on my 'to read' list, it was recommended by a friend whose suggestions have never failed me thus far.
