Make it RAIN! Hot water in the jar, cold front "clouds" on top...it rains in the jar. Totally awesome.

Weather: Fill the cup with water. Put shaving cream on top for a cloud. Explain that when clouds get really heavy with water, it rains! Then put blue food coloring on top of the cloud, and watch it rain.

I wish I had lessons like this when I was trying to learn :) Great activity during a weather unit. 2 liter soda bottle cut in half. Put about an inch and a half of warm water (w blue food coloring) in the bottom. Invert the top of the bottle with the lid on and fill with ice. Watch the water condensate and watch it "rain" THIS is brilliant!

Hurricane Isaac at Night by NASA: Captured by Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite on the Suomi-NPP satellite at 1:57AM on 8/28/12. (The VIIRS "day-night band," detects light in a range of wavelengths from green to near-infrared and uses light intensification to enable the detection of dim signals. In this case, the clouds of Isaac were lit by moonlight.) #Hurricane_Isaac #NASA #Visible_Infrared_Imaging
