F. Scott Fitzgerald was one of the major American writers of the twentieth century. The Great Gatsby is a portrait of the Jazz Age in all of its decadence and excess, Gatsby captured the spirit of the author's generation and earned itself a permanent place in American mythology. Self-made, self-invented millionaire Jay Gatsby embodies some of Fitzgerald's--and his country's--most abiding obsessions: money, ambition, greed, and the promise of new beginnings.
The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald: want to read (can't believe i didn't have to read this in high school.)

Neil Gaiman’s Stardust. | 22 Books You Should Read Now, Based On Your Childhood Favorites
On my to read list...
If you loved The Phantom Tollbooth, you should read Neil Gaiman’s Stardust. | It’s the playfulness of The Phantom Tollbooth that wins over its readers, and Neil Gaiman’s Stardust captures that same sense expertly. When Tristan Thorn embarks on a quest to find a fallen star, he encounters witches, elf-lords, a captain of a flying ship, and all manners of eccentrics that will stay with the reader long after the book is finished.
The story of young Tristran Thorn and his adventures in the land of Faerie. He has fallen in love with beautiful Victoria Forester and in order to win her hand, he must retrieve a fallen star and deliver it to her.
Love, love, love this book

A book worth reading I'm not reading the next one, though. Heard it was heartbreaking.
The Book Worm
The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini - Reasons (2008): offensive language, sexually explicit, and unsuited to age group. Book Club
'The Kite Runner' a novel by Khaled Hosseini. One of my favorite books.
The Kite Runner - amazing book, I was so emotionally involved in this book that I was so angry I almost stopped reading it at one point. Glad I kept reading.
Good book. The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini

The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver. My imaginary book club spends a lot of time reading Barbara Kingsolver and this is at the top of the list. OK, aside from the ending, which I can hardly type without tears landing on the keyboard, how can a person pick a favorite character? Also, the cake mixes.
Barbara Kingsolver is one of my favorite authors - The Poisonwood Bible is written from the perspective of the 4 daughters of a Baptist preacher who has taken them to the Congo in 1958 as missionaries...a must read that you will return to again and again
Missionary family living in Africa in 1960's. One of my all time favorite books!
Missionaries in the congo. this book will suck you in! (After reading this review I am going to have to look into it, I keep forgetting. This is one of my sisters all time favorite books too!) -kjk)
Good one-butchered the mini series
