We have been studying Buddhism since the 1980's and of all the spiritual paths we have incorporated into our spiritual beliefs Buddhism feels the most encompassing. The practical, loving, honoring, compassionate teachings have assisted us in growing our souls and passing what we have learned on to others. Health is the greatest gift....liberated mind is the greatest bliss. ~Buddha

The Way of the Bodhisattva by Shantideva. A great book on the bodhichitta principle. Great for Buddhists and non-Buddhists alike. Especially good for those interested in Buddhism and spirituality.

The Dalai Lama

"The Buddha never claimed to be anything more than a human being. He found pain to be just as painful as you and I do." (From "How to Be Sick")

"Peace, in the sense of the absence of war, is of little value to someone who is dying of hunger or cold. It will not remove the pain of torture inflicted on a prisoner of conscience. It does not comfort those who have lost their loved ones in floods caused by senseless deforestation in a neighboring country. Peace can only last where human rights are respected, where the people are fed, and where individuals and nations are free." By Dalai Lama XIV
