This is the fifth and last post for my Surviving 2 Thriving series. The focus of this post will be on thriving. But what is thriving? In some ways thriving will look different to all of us, because in the end we all desire different things specifically, but the core concept of thriving will be the same. Thriving is living beyond surviving.
This is the fourth post of my “Surviving 2 Thriving” series. This post focuses on “What To Do When (W2DW)…” What to do when you crash and burn, when the obstacles in front of you are more mountain than mole hill, when you start to give up on yourself and all the progress you are making… when you get to that point of thinking, “Screw it! I can’t do this!”
Alice: “This is impossible.” Madhatter: “Only if you believe it is.” -Alice in Wonderland. Imagine for just a moment that you were living the life you always dreamed of. How would that look to you? What would you be doing... who would you surround yourself with... where would you be living? Imagine the possibilities. Imagine if you could be anyone, do anything, or go anywhere… how would it feel to experience that?
I’m so glad that you made it to my webBLOG. This is post one of a series of five posts, plus some add-ons. In this series I want to take a quick stroll through the main purpose behind my webBLOG: Surviving-2-Thriving. I want to explore where you are now (or have been) in Survival mode, and expand across some different points, until we arrive at Thriving Mode.
This is the third post of my “Surviving 2 Thriving” series. This post focuses on the power of focus. Some of you may have noticed that I talk a lot about focus, but that’s because I believe it’s foundational in healing, growing, and transforming. Let’s focus on your focus because trust me although it seems like a simple concept -it’s not easy to redirect your focus again and again.
First Things First. This is my second post of the series, “Surviving 2 Thriving”. If you haven’t read the first one yet, I recommend you do: Survival Mode. In this post we are going to focus on your “Pit of Despair” (POD), and the “Invisible Demon Dogs” (IDD) you are running from. Originally, I was going to give you tips on how to outrun those IDD’s, but then I realized that was all wrong. That’s part of the issue.
There is a very simple concept that states, "our thoughts create our reality." This concept is one that can make or break your life, depending on the thoughts you are thinking. If we continuously think the thoughts of things we don’t want in our life… in reality, we are creating more things in our life that we don’t want. However, if we think positive thoughts, thoughts that make us happy… then, we create more things in our life to enjoy and be happy about.
Where Focus Goes, Energy Flows. When we focus on the negative things in our life -when we give the things we feel negatively about our unwavering attention, we are creating a dark, toxic, sludge filled space for ourselves. But, when we focus on the positive things in our life -when we give our attention to all the positive things around us, we are creating a life for ourselves that is happier, lighter, and more wonderful.
It's not falling apart... It's falling into place. Our perspective of chaos, of obstacles and challenges, as they play out in our lives, directly influences our attitude. Changing your perspective about these situations, will allow you to focus more positively on your life.
