The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
Worth Reading, Douglas Adams, Galaxies, Books Worth, Science Fiction, Favorite Book, Galaxy
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. Learn not to take the universe so seriously and forget any meaning you’ve applied to anything in your life, because we all know the real meaning of life is 42. Above all--DON'T PANIC, and don't forget to bring a towel. Adult Science Fiction 10/22/15
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy ~ Douglas Adams, one of my favorite books, when digital clocks where a novelty , so funny...
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams (Grades 8 & up). Don't leave Earth without this hilarious international bestseller about the end of the world and the happy-go-lucky days that follow...about the worst Thursday that ever happened and why the Universe is a lot safer if you bring a towel.
Douglas Adams - The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Meest hilarische boek ooit. Origineel, verrassend & verfrissend absurd. De reden waarom we op 21/12/2012 de hele dag met een handdoek rondliepen. Helaas verging de wereld niet en hadden we onze handdoek niet nodig. Laatste boodschap van de schepper aan zijn schepping? "Onze excuses voor het ongemak".
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. This has been a favorite book forever. It's fun to read it today and see how spot on Adams is at predicting things like the internet. It's also hilarious - the film version was rubbish because most of the brilliance of this book lies in the narration.
Ms. Y's pick of the week is Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. This hilarious story of Arthur Dent, the sole human survivor of Earth's adventures around the galaxy will keep you laughing til the end of time. This is one of my all time favorite books. If you like British humor, this is the book for you.
Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy... Worth reading, definitely.

Book #9 - for the "Pullitzer Prize Winning" slot - Middlesex: A Novel (Oprah's Book Club):
Middlesex, Jeffrey Eugenides Compulsively readable, Eugenides’s novel tells many stories, but the most memorable of these is that of Cal, who tells us that he was born twice: “first, as a baby girl, on a remarkably smogless Detroit day of January 1960; and then again, as a teenage boy, in an emergency room near Petoskey, Michigan, in August of l974.” Whether or not you’ve had any remotely similar experience, Cal’s struggles with sexuality, identity, and loyalty to family are likely to hit home.
anything by Eugenides is worth reading! I love his characters!

The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway
Worth Reading, Ernest Hemingway, Books Worth, Favorite Books, Sun, Lost Generation
The quintessential novel of the Lost Generation, The Sun Also Rises is one of Ernest Hemingway's masterpieces and a classic example of his spare but powerful writing style. Description from ebay.com. I searched for this on bing.com/images
Nobel Prize-winning classic author's first The Sun Also Rises - Ernest Hemingway - "...novel follows the dual story of a wounded war correspondent's hopeless pursuit of an unattainable lady and a band of expatriates' 1920s journey from Paris's Left Bank to the bull fights of Spain."
The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway was a terrible boring novel to read and on my own I did not understand the themes but when the class discussed the book it was cool to see how you they all came to the conclusions about the thematic ideas!
The Sun Also Rises, by Ernest Hemingway Another English syllabus special, Hemingway’s tight prose and peerless storytelling are somehow more resonant when you are reading it on your own. Or as my colleague Matt put it: “I couldn’t keep my eyes open for more than five pages of Hemingway growing up, but for some reason I picked this up in my post-graduation haze and was mesmerized.”
The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway - Great example of the "iceberg" method. In true Hemingway fashion, less is more. Great story following the Modernist trends of the Lost Generation. I would highly recommend.
The Sun Also Rises is a 1926 novel written by American author Ernest Hemingway about a group of American who travel from Paris to the Festival of San Fermín in Pamplona to watch the running of the bulls and the bullfights.
Earnest Hemingway’s quintessential story of the post-World War I Lost Generation remains relevant eighty-five years after its 1926 publication and provides a poignant look at the disillusionment and angst in an age of moral bankruptcy, spiritual dissolution, unrealized love, and vanishing illusions. The quintessential novel of the Lost Generation, The Sun Also Rises is one of Ernest Hemingway’s masterpieces and a classic example of his spare but powerful writing style

My favorite Stephen King book. Read it several times over the years. Still think Randall Flagg (the devil) was a great character, along with the pyromaniac dude. The 'good' characters were very empathetic....Though I haven't read it in awhile, I would bet it still 'stands' up. har har!

'To Kill a Mockingbird,' by Harper Lee: The book, the movie, the documentary
One of the best-loved stories of all time, To Kill a Mockingbird has been translated into more than forty languages, sold more than thirty million copies worldwide, served as the basis for an enormously popular motion picture, and was voted one of the best novels of the twentieth century by librarians across the country. A gripping, heart-wrenching, and wholly remarkable tale of coming-of-age in a South poisoned by virulent prejudice, it views a world of great beauty and savage inequities through the eyes of a young girl, as her father-a crusading local lawyer-risks everything to defend a black man unjustly accused of a terrible crime.
