Central Park - NYC - East Drive at 67th Street. It was sculpted in 1925 by Frederick George Richard Roth to honor Balto the heroic Alaskan sled dog. (Balto sat and stood for the statue.) The plaque reads: ‘Dedicated to the indomitable spirit of/The Sled Dogs/That relayed antitoxin 600 miles over rough ice/ across treacherous waters.
