NGC 2683 is a spiral galaxy seen almost edge-on, giving it the shape of a classic science fiction spaceship. The newly discovered Kronberger 61 nebula is essentially a shell of ionized gas that owes its blue light to charged oxygen molecules. The bright object to the bottom left of the nebula is actually a distant galaxy. This nebula was discovered while searching near the northern constellation of Cygnus.
