Sometimes you just can't let go.

My SIL is crafty. I don't mean DIY crafty. I mean deviously crafty. With a capital D. A week or so ago, he received an Architectural Pottery reissue on consignment. The pieces are made to the original designer specifications. The one he got is an IN-2 model in white with a black…

Alvino Bagni lidded jar, imported by Raymor (purchased April, Italian Pottery, Ceramic Studio, Jar Lids, Vintage Ceramic, Pottery Art, Vintage Furniture, Divider, Ceramics, Room

Alvino Bagni

Alvino Bagni (1919-2000) was mentored early in his career by Aldo Londi, art director for the Bitossi family ceramics studio. Bagni worked for Bitossi in Florence, Italy, for several years before opening his own studio called Bagni Ceramiche in 1956 in Lastra a Signa, a town near Florence. Because Bagni's work was imported by Raymor and Rosenthal Netter, it is very often identified incorrectly as Londi or Bitossi. However, if a piece still has the Raymor tag, it will have BAG printed or…

Vintage West German piece by Bay (purchased April, Bottle Vase, Vintage Ceramic, Vintage Furniture, Divider, German, Pottery, Ceramics, Room, Accessories

Vase-o-mania

I've been in a bit of a frenzy lately...a vase-buying frenzy. First, I picked up a beautiful 5 1/2" (13.97 cm) bottle/vase by Giovanni de Simone to display the larger 8" (20.32 cm) one I bought back in February. The new one is signed and dated 1964. Bottle by Giovanni de Simone Next, I found a 12" (30.48 cm) West German piece by Bay that I had to have. The shape of that handle and the color combination of brown, green and orange were just too wonderful to pass up. West German pitcher/vase by…
