Tetelestai translates to "It is finished." “After this, when Jesus knew that all things were now completed, in order that the scripture might be fulfilled, he said, ‘I thirst.’” Two verses later, he utters the word himself: “Then when he received the sour wine Jesus said, ‘It is finished,’ and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.” John 19:28 & 30
“Talitha Koum” What does it mean? “I read a story in the Bible about Jesus walking up to a girl who had just died and He said, ‘Talitha Koum which means ‘Little girl, I say to you, get up!’ And the girl was raised from the dead. I read this at a time when I was spiritually and emotionally ‘dead’ When I read this story, I felt Jesus saying to me, just what He was saying to the girl.
Talitha cumi, meaning: "little girl, rise" are the words used by Jesus to raise a young girl from the dead in Mark 5. As a child of God who was dead in sin and made alive in Christ these words strike a chord in my heart. :)
