In 2009 The Dalmore distillery has announced the launch of one of its most prized whiskies – the Sirius – with a price of £10,000 per bottle. The Dalmore’s 1951 Sirius Vintage is a single-cask, single malt whisky, with a cask strength of 45%. It will only be available to private buyers and through a limited network of World Duty Free stores.

This BenRiach 1978 Firkin Cask is distilled and filled back in June 1978 which makes it extremely rare and only 40 bottles have been made that contain the old malt. The term 'Firkin' was used in old times to refer to a cask that was used for aging whiskeys. Thus, the traditional method has been used in the making of the rare malt.

Distilled in 1883, it was bottled in 1931 by George & John Gordon Smith. Initially sold for prices as high as $30,740, the bottle has changed many hands including Captain William Smith, who happened to be the great grandson of Colonel George Smith, the founder of the Glenlivet distillery.

The Joh Walker.- The first bottle of the new whisky blend in the Johnnie Walker portfolio. The whisky will sell for $3,000 duty free making it the highest priced line in Diageo’s entire drinks portfolio. The new blend was created from a small number of rare and exclusive whiskies taken from distilleries that operated in the 1800s during John Walker’s lifetime. Singapore received five bottles ahead of the blend’s official launch in September 2009.
