In tough times, be it at work or in relationships, it is tempting for me to think if I am doing too much and getting too little back... the sneaky villain in me is always waiting for such moments of weakness to banish the selfless hero in me to the phantom zone of disillusionment! I pride myself for having perfect eyesight despite spending much time on the computer & mobile but recently, I realized I can no longer see far things clearly... I am making extra efforts now to rest my eyes & focus on far things at regular intervals - perhaps this applies to anything we do too: we may focus too much on short-term goals while neglecting the truly important long-term goals!

Losing Something May Gain You Something More If You Are Open
Last week, I had the best time of my life: I lost my voice, my health and my dearest wife was away for a retreat… In this period of loss, I remembered friends who were sick, lonely and in distress; I appreciated more the little things in life which we tend to take for granted, eg. ability to speak, sing and enjoy a good meal; I realized how much housework there was in just 5 days where my Darling was away.
