Piano lessons. I remember all of these very well! My first book was the red John Thompson's piano book and the first song used my thumb and first two fingers: " Stepping up, Stepping down, Then a skip". I must have played it a thousand times. Mr.Gower, my first piano teacher, was blind and rode the greyhound bus to and from the lessons.

He was known as The Originator because of his key role in the transition from the blues to rock, influencing Buddy Holly, Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, The Velvet Underground, The Who, Eric Clapton, Elvis Presley, & The Beatles, among others. Bo Diddley - In 1928, one of America's most influential blues musicians, Ellas Bates -- better known as Bo Diddley -- was born to a desperately poor couple in rural Mississippi. At a young age, he was adopted, along with three cousins, by his mother's cousin, who moved the family to Chicago in the mid-1930s. Diddley, nicknamed "The Originator," would go on to record nearly 40 records and be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.
