Beyond Black: Biracial identity in America By: Rockquemore & Brunsma Black identity is not characterized by physical traits, because members of the black community have an enormous variety of physical appearances, including those who physically appear white. (chapter 1 page 14 paragraph 2) I agree with this, i feel that there is a lot of diversity within the african american race, from dark skin, to light skin from brown eyes to green.
