Dime Store - Love the wood floors and the shopping baskets---brings back memories! The dime stores I remember always smelled good, too! Tucker's 5 & 10 was awesome but I loved the ones with creaking wooden floors too

Remember when

Pluto Maxi-Push Puppet -You could buy them at Five Dimes, what we called 'the Dime store. I loved mine! Played with it for hours!

Not hard to remember - my first large tree was decorated with many Shiny Brites - my first tree top ornament was a red and silver, Shiny Brite, Victorian-style Nativity Star. There are still many Shiny Brites in my collection.

If you remember this, then you had a fun childhood. The best part is that you didn't have to plug it in.

Captain Kangaroo...with Mr Green Jeans, Moose, Dancing Bear...

Boy, I'll say, I loved Captain Kangaroo every morning. I remember when I was young, one time my mother was wanting to dress me for the day and I said."Not in front of Captain Kangaroo".funny how I remember that so clearly.

Anyone remember or have the recipe for the fudge on the cocoa tin? It hasn't been on the container in years and it was the best! One of my favorite holiday memories.with chopped walnuts!


I remember taking a ten bob note and a sixpence to school in mine. This dizzy amount and a half pence) was the deposit for violin lessons and was to cover the cost of a broken string.

I forgot about these! It's gross to think about it now, but was so "the normal" back when I was growing up!
