amazing architecture in Japan
Shell house designed by Japanese Architect, Kotaro Ide of ARTechnic is located in the Karuizawa forest, Kitasaku, Nagano. The organic shape of the house seems subtle within the forest, and the reinforced cement structure becomes one and harmonizes itself with the landscape. The design of the residence co-exist with nature.

Quincy Jones. Roberts, an architecture professor at Woodbury University, comments, “The building section is a metaphor for America’s boundless self-confidence after World War II: The building literally takes flight across the canyon.” Click here to read the full story and here to see a slideshow of images. Residential Architecture: Rado Redux by Peter Gluck and Partners: “..The Czech émigré architect, Ladislav Rado’s famous modern house built in 1956-57, provided the original context for its renovation. Exemplary of its time, the building reflects the simplicity and directness of the relationship to the outside and to the landscape, with influences from Japan..The current renovation preserves the ‘floating box’ form by restoring the second floor cantilever, wrapping the whole upper box with a new
