The Centuar Book Shop opened its doors in Philadelphia on October 1, 1921. It's founder Harold Trump Mason wanted to focus on modern literature including first & limited editions, fine printing and signed copies but also assorted literary and philosophical magazines and later phonograph records. It also became a well known gathering place for many well known Philadelphians. To learn more, read Wharton Esherick & the Birth of the American modern. Pictured is an Esherick woodcut of the shop.
