Belgian Sheepdogs (Groenendael, Laekenois, Tervuren, and Malinois) separated into four distinct breeds in 1959, the Belgians are a fine example of the working dog. Though primarily used for herding, the Belgian Malinois variety is used extensively for police and military work. I grew up with the black variety Groenendael, generally called the Belgian Sheepdog in the US. #dogs #animal #belgian #sheepdog
The Borzoi is a sweet, intelligent dog. It is proud and is extremely loyal to its family. It is quite affectionate with people it knows well. They can be trained in obedience, but it should be remembered that they are hounds, and as such are more free-thinking and less willing to please humans than some breeds. They are, however, very intelligent and capable learners. The training of this breed needs to be gentle, but firm and consistent.
Known as the clown of the canine world, a Basset Hound is sure to bring you some laughs. The Basset Hound is a terrific family pet, because they are intelligent, easygoing, sociable, loving, and loyal. They are great with children and other dogs, and are friendly with strangers. They love to be part of the family and go for rides in the car, watch TV with you, and play in the yard. They are also prone to mischief.
