Do you remember the 60's,70's 80's? Remember riding in the back of a station wagon no seat belts and having the time of your life?
Sitting backwards in the station wagon with no seat belts. I remember sitting in the back with the seats down while my mom or dad was driving, we would slide when they made turns. How unsafe was that!
Do you remember the 60's,70's & 80's? Remember riding in the back of a station wagon no seat belts and having the time of your life? We had one of the "woodie" station wagons in the 50's! I remember one of my cousins vomiting in the back and dad washing it out with the garden hose.
Do you remember the 60's,70's & 80's? Remember riding in the back of a station wagon no seat belts and having the time of your life? Or smuggling extra people into the drive-in theater in the hidden tire well! lol
Do you remember the 60's,70's & 80's? Remember riding in the back of a station wagon no seat belts and having the time of your life? I took my driving test in one of these, parallel parking wasn't easy, lol.
Do you remember the 60's,70's & 80's? Remember riding in the back of a station wagon no seat belts and having the time of your life? Ours wass blue with 'wood' siding. Her name was Betsy. :)
The good ole days. Sitting backwards in the station wagon - no seatbelts necessary - or playing in the back of the van!

Remember when shoe clerks actually measured your shoe size?
Shoe Sizer, Childhood Memories, Buying Shoes, Baby Boomer
measured ones shoe size. When I was young the only place to buy shoes was a shoe store, where they measured your feet with this!
Shoe scale, to find out what size shoe you wore. I also remember getting my feet x-rayed a couple of times when I was a kid ... right there in the middle of the shoe store! It was just a new gimmick to bring customers to the store. Folks were naive/uninformed back then about the dangers of overexposure to x-rays. (Yikes!)
These were used when you used to buy shoes from sales clerks who measured your shoe size (and width) and then went to the stock room to get the shoes you wanted to try on. Hannahs shoe store
Something that should make a comeback: measuring your foot at the shoe store and buying shoes that actually fit!
I use to use this when I worked at Gallenkamp Shoes back in the 70's!
I used one of these when I worked at Green's Shoe Store in the '80's

This is an antique music download service.. place in front of speaker, wait for song, and hope that everyone can be quiet for 4 and a half minutes! (Its a cassett tape recorder!)
I remember running to get the tape recorder (just like this one) to record special radio broadcasts. You had to remember to check that the cassette's tabs were intact, otherwise it wouldn't record. In an emergency you could put Scotch tape on the cassette to replace the tabs. I still have all my radio recordings from Duran Duran interviews (on Q101, etc.). Luckily, I found a converter to transform cassettes to MP3 files, since any cassette players are a distant memory now.
Cassette Player....I had a good friend who used this as a tape player in his car!
