Inspiration. Family photos of #Malaya in the #1950s. Though #TheSeparation published by #Penguin is a work of fiction and all characters in the book are fictitious, elements are inspired by tales, experiences, and people from my childhood in Malaysia and from friends and family who knew it at that time.
