Love Love Love this book! Book Review - Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire - Maryse's Book Blog
Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire "Jamie McGuire's young adult book Beautiful Disaster's cover is simple yet meaningful. A dark butterfly kept inside a glass jar symbolizes the dark secrets kept by people involved in young love. When released, the dark butterfly either shows her dark past or blends in with others as a unique character. This love story about two strong characters is something worth reading based from the cover that tickles the curiosity of readers into lifting pages ."

The Headmaster's Wife by Thomas Christopher Greene ** Beautifully written and compulsively readable, The Headmaster’s Wife is a haunting and deeply affecting portrait of one couple at their best and worst—"a truly remarkable novel" (Richard Russo) **

Review: The Headmaster’s Wife by Thomas Christopher Greene - Fans of adult literature with some mystery should definitely give this book a chance. It would also make a great book club read. I look forward to reading more of Thomas Christopher Greene’s books if they’re all written this well.
Like his father before him, Arthur Winthrop is the Headmaster of Vermont’s elite Lancaster School. It is the place he feels has given him his life, but is also the site of his undoing as events spiral out of his control. Found wandering naked in Central Park, he begins to tell his story to the police, but his memories collide into one another, and the true nature of things, a narrative of love, of marriage, of family and of a tragedy Arthur does not know how to address emerges.

Prep: A Novel | Curtis Sittenfeld
This book makes me want to punch the main character, but it was worth reading.
Prep by Curtis Sittenfeld. I thought this would be a funny but honest look at going to prep school and it was...minus the funny. Such a good book but boy, I just wanted to reach thru the pages, shake the narrator, and then hug her and give her some self confidence--which really means I related to her on an obscene level and wanted to go back in time & shake/hug myself.

The Perks Of Being A Wallflower. Finished it yesterday. Good book. I'm excited to see the movie.
def worth reading... the perks of being a wallflower
In high school, I lost my love for reading. I hated reading books for school and rarely actually read the full book without consulting Sparknotes. The books in school that I would read were the plays that were assigned such as "The Crucible" and "A Streetcar Named Desire". The only outside books I enjoyed reading were John Green books and other books that related to teenagers. To this day my favorite book is "Perks of Being a Wallflower" by Stephen Chbosky

A Tree Grows In Brooklyn, favorite book of all time and a great movie also!!
A Tree Grows In Brooklyn. Coming of age story of a young girl growing up in brooklyn in the early 20th century.
The beloved American classic about a young girl's coming-of-age at the turn of the century, Betty Smith's A Tree Grows in Brooklyn is a poignant and moving tale filled with compassion and cruelty, laughter and heartache, crowded with life and people and incident. The story of young, sensitive, and idealistic Francie Nolan and her bittersweet formative years in the slums of Williamsburg has enchanted and inspired millions of readers for more than sixty years.
A Tree Grows In Brooklyn...Definitely worth reading!
A Tree Grows In Brooklyn- would like to read ? book club
Dinah, the only daughter of Jacob, narrates this novel, explaining how the women of her family had their own religious practices that ran counter to the beliefs the men upheld. Through Dinah's voice, this novel imagines the women's stories that the Bible doesn't tell. To call it provocative and rebellious is an understatement; it pushes against patriarchy and suggests an ancient and empowering role for women and women's sexuality.
