Sir William Wallace (b. — ? - d. - 23 August 1305) was a Scottish knight and one of the leaders of the Scottish Wars of Independence.Wallace was born into a noble family but little else is known about his origins. He gained notoriety for his brilliant leadership and military prowess at the Battle of Stirling, where his army won a crushing and decisive victory.
