An infantryman from 7. Thüringisches Infanterie-Regiment Nr.96, Rudolstadt, circa 1916 Probably taken in the grounds of his garrison, an infantryman from 7. Thüringisches Infanterie-Regiment Nr.96 stares stoically into Herr Lösche's camera lens for a memento photograph not long before before he departed to the front. His Regiment would see action at Verdun and the Somme and by 1918 would be fighting defensive actions against the Allied offensives.
