Two radio operators can be seen inside a shelter on the steppe. The soldiers appear to have been here for some reasonable time as two Zeltbahn capes have been used as a tent. There were a number of standard designs for constructing Zeltbahn tents and some of them could house four, eight and even sixteen men. These Zeltbahn tents were ideal rainproof shelters ar were used extensively throughout the war, but they were not designed for front line use.
