I am very happy to announce that my private career counseling practice is celebrating its 20th anniversary this fall. It's a networking event, so you don't even have to know me to come; just show up with your business cards and networking your brains out. Please also bring lots of money to donate to the Bethlehem Food Pantry. Save the date on your calendar and RSVP to me by October 1st. Thank you to my trusted business colleagues, the Chamber, clients and friends for helping me get this far on my entrepreneurial journey. I am also grateful to my beloved family especially my devoted wife, Lisa, for their unending support and encouragement. With God's Help, I hope to be practicing for many more years to come. It is always a great honor to teach the next generation my passion for curling. Each Sunday in the winter, I volunteer my time with the Youth Curling Program at my Albany Curling Club. Under the direction of David Marinucci, he has built a thriving program. It was a special privilege to work with Jonnah, who is an aspiring 12 year old curler in his first year. He has come a long way and I am thrilled with his progress. I had a very nice conversation with his mom, Laura and our final session complete with a pizza party. She said he loves curling and will continue next year. I look forward to seeing him advance next season. Feeling grateful for my time with him. - April 2025
Got a chance to catch up with my mentee of 20+ years, Ryan Watroba, at the 2025 40 Under 40 VIP Reception at June Farms this week. I have watched him grow and develop into an exceptional young professional. He currently serves as the Executive Vice President of Coldwell Banker Prime Properties. I received the 40 Under 40 Award way back in 2006. It was a major milestone in my journey as a career counselor. It significantly helped me launch my private practice, and I am very grateful to the Albany Business Review for selecting me. - April 2025 #careersintransitionllc
Big shout out to Kainat Raza for inviting me to Mercy House this week to give a seminar on career development! Mercy House, located in Albany, provides a supportive, homestyle setting for adults experiencing homelessness. In this 20-bed, year-round shelter, guests receive individualized, person-centered care that addresses their unique needs and goals and promotes long-term housing stability. In my talk, we discussed resumes, cover letters, networking, interview skills and goal setting. #careersintransitionllc
I’m very happy with my new business cards. I ordered 500 from Vista Print, and the cost was a mere $38 dollars. I was also able to use the backside for my new tagline ("The Capital Region's Most Experienced and Recommended Career Counselor"). My clients can also use the backside as an appointment reminder card. Photo Credit: Joan Heffler Photography - Pictures With Personality March 2025
Big shout out to Joan Heffler for taking this fantastic new head shot. Joan is the premiere portrait photographer in the Capital Region. If you have been thinking about updating your LinkedIn profile profile picture, I would highly recommend her. You will not be disappointed. https://www.joanhefflerphotography.com/ January 2025
A big shout out to WAMC Northeast Public Radio!!! I have built my private career counseling practice without any advertising. However, I decided to take the risk to become a WAMC Underwriter over 13 years ago, and it has been one of my best professional decisions. I track the number of clients I receive from underwriting, and it has more than paid for the cost. I chose to underwrite for my practice because of the caliber of listeners the station reaches. It is my belief that listeners are loyal to the WAMC Underwriters, and often try to support them. I just accepted two new clients this month that heard my message on WAMC. Careers in Transition LLC is proud to be supporter of WAMC. If you would like to learn more please contact Kordelia Hutans at the station. February 2025
Caught up with Walter Thorne, Publisher of the Albany Business Review, at Thursday’s 40 Under Forty Alumni Reception in Troy. In 2006, I received the 40 Under Forty Award and it really helped my private career counseling practice grow into what it is today. Eighteen years later, I am very blessed to have been pursuing my life's work. Walter has done so many great things with his publication and team. We are blessed to have such an energetic and inspiring man help us grow the Capital Region into one of the best places to live work and play in the country. #AlbanyBusinessReview #CareersInTransitionLLC.
It was an honor to be a guest lecturer to UAlbany MBA students on the topic of career development yesterday. We discussed a range of topics from the career development process, to self-assessment, career exploration, action plan, resumes, LinkedIn, job search strategies and interview skills. I'm grateful to have given the opportunity to pass my knowledge on to the next generation. - April 2024 #drtomdenham #careersintransitionllc

On behalf of the members of Bethlehem Business Builders (BBB), I want to thank John Taylor, Senior Economic Developer for the Town of Bethlehem for giving our networking group an update on business and residential development. I have been a member of BBB for 18 years now and what I like best is that it is more than just a networking group. - February 2024
Dr. Tom Denham interviewed by Terri Egan of the Bethlehem Chambrer of Commerce
Feeling very grateful to Terri Egan and the Bethlehem Chamber interviewing me this month and helping me promote my career transition program. My three step process helps clients explore their career options and then develop a concrete action plan that helps reach their goals. If you know of anyone this holiday season that needs help, please have them reach out to me. The Chamber does great work , has helped me grow my private practice, and I'm blessed to be a member. - December 2023 #CareersInTransitionLLC #drtomdenham
