Handsome and friendly, all love and no sting, Redford is a blockbuster kind of cat. We can say for sure that this kid has movie star appeal and a warm, giving side...he loves to hang out on your lap, making sure you are just as content as he is. Redford was found as a stray, but once you make this guy your leading man, you will see that straying is the furthest thing from his mind. Come see the sun dance around handsome Redford and you won't be able help but make him the company you keep.
Teddy is a handsome light orange tiger with subtle stripes. In his 3 short years of life, he’d only learned shyness and fear. He never experienced love and attention until POA rescued him from a tiny apartment overcrowded with cats. No doubt poor Teddy had to compete for food and space. POA placed Teddy in a foster home where he had a room of his own, fresh food and water, and a kind foster parent to care for him. Teddy did well in his foster home, but he is stressed at the shelter
When you watched Snow White, was Bashful your favorite? If so, you may want to meet Cecil. Quiet, a little timid, and very, very sweet, Cecil would blush if he could. Peaceful by nature, Cecil likes other cats as long as they are not too aggressive, and enjoyed playing and wrestling with the other cats in his foster home. And Cecil may be the softest cat you ever pet. When you stroke his velvety, storm-gray fur, Cecil will stretch out, purring, or gently lay his cheek against your…
Gentle Missy was abandoned when her owners moved. Perhaps that is why she looks so sad and scared; her beautiful green eyes wide, her body scrunched into the corner of her cat condo. But pet Missy and she relaxes, and rests her soft, round head on your arm. All Missy needs is a little time, a home, and someone to cherish her and tell her what a lovely soul she is. Maybe all you need is Missy?
Oreo- milk's favorite cat. Oreo is also one of POA director John's favorite cats. Oreo likes to hang out in the office with John and supervise any work going on. Oreo would rather play than work himself. Give Oreo a laser light or string toy, and a bit of your attention, and he is one joyful cat. Oreo can be a bit rambunctious and would do best with an experienced cat lover who is comfortable setting boundaries.
Sometimes a cat needs time. In Tootsie's case, she needed a place. When Tootsie came into the shelter, she stayed in one of the upper cat condos in a room with a number of other cats. She did not seem to want to interact with volunteers, and when prospective adopters came in, Tootsie turned her face to the wall. Thinking she might need a quieter location and a little extra socialization, we moved her to a lower cat condo in the playroom. Within 24 hours of moving Tootsie was a lap cat.
A cat in sheep's clothing? From a distance, Minou seems to be a cute, cuddly, black and white cat. AndMinou is all of those things. But come closer, and you will notice that Minou has curly, almost fleece-like fur. We believe that this is because Minou is a Selkirk Rex mix. Playful, outgoing and easy to love, Minou pairs these exotic good looks with easygoing charm. Who could ask for more?
Tall, gangly and handsome, you can kind of see him in a suit from the Maxwell came in as a stray rescued by an angel who has earned his earth wings for sure! The Cat Adoption Center hours: Saturdays from or by appointment.
Hope, a beautiful tabby girl, was found as a stray and came to POA with no expectations....sometimes being without a home can do that to a kitty. But, even though she wasn't sure what would happen to her next, she was still her sweet and very affectionate self. As she becomes more comfortable Hope is seeing that her wishes for a family and home to call her own can come true!
Garfield is a shy and timid boy.... until you start to pet him. He will then warm up to you like the first warm day in spring. Not bold and overpowering, but slowly and gently, letting rays of sunshine curl up around you until you are enveloped in his sweet and friendly purrsonality. Garfield was rescued from a hoarding situation and while he is happy to be getting more one on one attention, he is fine with other cats and would be happy in a home with a furry friend or two.
