The students read the passage independently, then travel around the classroom answering the questions on butcher paper. There can be stations with each station asking a question about a story element (i. one on characters, one on setting etc).
I use this narrative graphic organizer with my students to help them organize their thoughts. They know that they will need to reproduce this on their own for state testing.I use this in conjunction with the for writing, which I have also posted.
