Edmodo is the virtual learning environment (VLE) of choice of several teachers at my school. Its built-in resources and curriculum, class social networking opportunities, grading, and communication tools are hard to beat. This is truly a great resource.

I love the Flipboard app as a professional development tool. It's a 'social news magazine' that allows you to follow topics you're interested in a gorgeous format. Bonus: my 10-year-old techie son loves it too and keeps current on all things Apple.

Have you discovered Diigo yet? I use it as a social bookmarking productivity tool to save, sort, comment on, highlight, and keep track of things I want to keep. My two favorite features (other than bookmarking a site) are the ability to highlight a phrase and to share a list of resources with others. Here's a list of math helps for students I created.

We all know and love Skype as a way to connect with friends and family, but have you used it as a teaching tool? I love its built-in screen-sharing option that allows me to show my parents (or anyone else) where to click as I walk them through something new.

I love Prezi to add some zooming pizazz to presentations. I don't like to get too carried away (I don't want to make viewers carsick...) but I like to shake things up a bit. Here's a SMART Board Prezi I created for a recent teacher training.

This Prezi is meant to be an overview of SMART Board hardware, software, and benefits.

I use Slideshare to find and share educational presentations. It's a great professional development and personal network tool. This presentation I created called "My Digital Footprint and PLN" has over 600 views. For a presentation I thought no one would see, that's a lot!
