Truman Library - 1948 Whistle Stop Tour - I can remember when the train that carried Harry Truman throughout the country made a stop in Dunsmuir, California. My parents went down to the station and listened to him talk. I was sitting on my father's shoulders so I could see the back of the train.

We heard the news that a plane had crashed into the Farrell's Ice Cream Parlor in south Sacramento. It was very soon that Darcy's mother called from Fresno very eager to hear that we were ok, knowing that we often frequented Farrell's, not realizing the ice cream parlor we went to was in north Sacramento.

We lived in Mississippi and I was seven. This was a hog my dad raised. Even with it's size, this animal was getting out of the sty at night. We found out it would go to the corner and using the two sides would shimmy up and over the top.
