A boy left his bike chained to a tree when he went away to war in 1914. He never returned, leaving the tree no choice but to grow around the bike. Incredible that this bike has been there for 98 years now! A wonderful children's story book has been written about this, called Red Ryder.

The caption read "A boy went to away to war in 1914 and left his bike chained to this tree. He never returned, leaving the tree no choice but to grow around the bike." Thank you to the boy and his sacrifice which allowed the tree to grow.
