Images that inspired scenes and characters from my second novel, PHOENIX (A Black City Novel), out 4 June 2013.
Pin up, pin down
The markets in Thrace are inspired by Marrakech...
The Bastet city, Viridis, inspired by Masouleh in Iran.
The Rainbow Forest, where the Dacians hide out.
The Dacian temptress, Giselle.
Other than just being an AWESOME PICTURE, this is how I imagine Acelot 'Ace' Theroux looking. The Theroux brothers are a pretty lot!
Ash's home, the 'Ivy Church' is based on St Mary Magdalene's Church Tower in Stony Stratford. [Photo: copyright Amelia Vincent 2013. Used with permission.]
Thrace's world famous market (inspired by the markets in Marrakech)
This glass sculpture by George Tsypin reminds me of Centrum - 'The Gilded City'
The beautiful Douglas Booth. The inspiration for the Bastet (and all round hottie), Elijah Theroux!
My gorgeous cover for PHOENIX (A Black City Novel)
Bleak Bridge, where Ash and Natalie first met. Look, it's Beetle's barge!
