This is a black and white photo of a child's face only half lit. I like this photo because the shadow gives depth to the child's face and makes it look more secretive. There is also nice texture from another shadow on the lit part of the child's face.
Trying to fill in someone else's shoes is futile. The person will at best be a shadow of the one who shoes they are trying to fill. It is best to have new shoes (their own) rather than live in the shadow of another
The halls of this building represent contrast. This hall is dark to begin with. And the windows provide the light and makes this photo unique. The other element that makes this different is that it was taken in black and white.
