Whiskey

In honour of a dear whiskey loving colleague returning from diaper duty, today is whiskey roundup day. To tell you the truth I have no idea if some of these are even worth drinking, but they look good! Check out prior booze posts for gin and vodka too :-)

Laphroaig Quarter Cask takes its inspiration from the small casks used in the 1800’s, the relationship between the barrels and the maturing spirit is critical. Quarter Cask is simply barrier filtered as used in those days – and bottled at a higher alcoholic strength. The added oak influence creates a soft sweetness and velvety feel at first taste, then the intense peatiness of Laphroaig, comes bursting through. The finish is very long and alternates between the sweetness and the peat.

If you like blends - I had a glass of this last night with some ice. The gold isn't too bad either, very affordable!
