I got really stuck on a nature thing when we talked about creating an environment in your classroom so this tree looked really pretty and I thought it would be awesome to have in a reading corner where students could read in the "shade".
Use different colored leaves to write the titles of different genres of books you read as a class. I use green for fiction, yellow is realistic fiction, red non fiction, and orange for biographies. The end of the year you have a full tree!
Genre reading tree- Students are encouraged to read different genres of books. Each leaf/color represents a different genre. Once a student finishes a book they fill out the corresponding leaf with the title of the book and their name. Great way to get kids motivated to read different genres. They love it!
