Untitled, 2009. #KerryJamesMarshall is an artist who aims to address the absence of black artists and subjects in the history of art. His works rewrite art that spans from the Renaissance to 20th Century abstraction by adding black figures to his paintings and therefore filling the long-standing and ignored void of black subjects in the art history world. cc: @devhynes #Gallery29 #AcknowledgeIsPower
