After #2 final photo!: Steer clear of thirsty plants... Bold succulents—agaves, aloes & aeonium—give Brooke’s garden the tropical foliage she wanted without the heavy water requirements. There’s also a lot less lawn to be irrigated now—she left just enough grass to spread out a blanket.

You Don't Have To Settle For Store Bought Tomatoes Over The Winter. Better options for indoor winter tomatoes are “indeterminate” varieties, those that continue growing and producing indefinitely. Furthermore, I’ve found that cherry and plum types, bearing small fruits in abundance, are more productive than large slicing types.

SECRET Fertilizer :) My ‘fertilizing cocktail’ consists of mixing 1/2 bottle of cheap beer, 1 tablespoon of Epson salts, and 2 tablespoons of fish emulsion in a watering can (1-2 gallons). I do this to ALL my vegetable, flowers, and indoor plants. You will definitely notice the difference in a few weeks! Don’t waste too much money on the beer. Cheapest still works great — plants aren’t picky!
