Summer Reading List: 6.) Beautiful Ruins – Jess Walter
Beautiful Ruins - a love story from Italy to LA, 1950s movie era to present day. Features the Cinque Terra, so I was intrigued. Great book until about the last 15 pages. I was let down after the complex winding of the story leading up to the ending, worth reading though.
Sweet Tooth: A Novel

Book coming out this fall by Ian McEwan that I'm putting on my reading list -- Sweet Tooth. In 1972, intelligent bibliophile and Cambridge grad Serena is recruited for the British secret service. As luck would have it, her first assignment has her tailing a writer on a mission codenamed “Sweet Tooth.” As she gets to know him and his work, she discovers she has a taste for both.
You may know of Ian McEwan from his novel Atonement which was a bestseller and made into a movie. His most recent book, Sweet Tooth, is set in 1970s Britain where we meet the protagonist Serena Frome. Frome is a young Cambridge student who has been identified as an ideal MI-5 or spy candidate. This book isnt a traditional spy novel but fans of mysteries and thrillers should enjoy the great writing and interesting philosophical Cold War themes.

Serena by Ron Rash. This is my next book I want to start on. They are currently making it in to a movie with Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper. Sounds like a great book! Movie out in 2015
