Carved skull. Actually, the artists who carved human skulls were interested in the sympathetic magic they superstitiously thought their carvings might confer upon skulls -- that rather than in any purely aesthetic purpose for their carving the skulls. I included it on this board (Artistic Merit), however, b/c the carvings do reflect artistic skill, though I personally would never choose to own one.
