Laundry Tip: How to safely make your own bleach gel at Me and My DIY

“The stinky saga that every pet owner faces and how to get rid of those smells forever!” Get rid of “potty” smell… dog, cat or child pee odors ~ 1 part mouthwash (Listerine, blue) to 2 parts water in a spray bottle. Spray on odor/spot, cover w/ newspaper. Remove paper when dry. The newspaper absorbs the smell, repeat if needed. This is awesome!

My grandma taught me this many years ago. Refreshing towels I use this trick all the time since I noticed my towels smelling funky. It works! - Over time, towels build up detergent and fabric softener, leaving them unable to absorb as much water and smelly. Recharge them by washing them once with hot water and 1cup vinegar, then a 2nd time with hot water and half cup baking soda. This strips the residue and leaves them fresh and able to absorb more water again. Works like a charm!

ONLY use this and it leaves floor spotless. (Heavy duty floor cleaner recipe: cup white vinegar 1 tablespoon liquid dish soap cup baking soda 2 gallons tap water, very warm.) It leaves everything smelling amazing.

Magic Eraser uses... did you know you can cut a piece off and float it in your toilet overnight and voila! no more toilet ring! The website has a list of about 100 uses!

club soda, baking soda, and vinegar to clean carpet stains (even SHARPIE pen stains!)

Punch a hole in the top of a bottle of vinegar and sit the bottle in your toilet tank. In doing this you will save water, as the tank wont fill as much, the vinegar will clean your toilet AND tank on each flush, it leaves the bathroom smelling fresh and it doesn't harm any component of your toilet OR the environment when flushed. Seriously????

DIY Laundry Detergent- smells wonderful, leaves towels fluffier, and is very inexpensive.

Previous pinner says... So many uses for Magic Erasers - even ones you never knew about! Seriously, I didn't even finish reading the list...there are a TON of uses!

Tub Cleaner - vinegar and dish soap, no scrubbing! Oh hells yes.

1-2 cups of water and 1-2 tablespoons of vinegar put in a microwave bowl in the microwave for 5 minutes. Take out and wipe clean with a rag.

Use hydrogen peroxide and baking soda to clean your old cookie sheets. NO scrubbing!

Common stains.

Instead of using extra laundry detergent to pre-treat, we turn to our old school friend: white chalk. Simply rub onto greasy stains and the chalk powder will absorb the grease, making the stain easily removable by the laundry soap in the wash.
