I got a lot of my ideas from this German hamsterforum http://www.das-hamsterforum.de/ and also by looking at the terrariums of reptiles.  The cork granules are from the reptile/terra section in the pet shop - they are normally used in tortoise terras. The beech chips were supposed to be for bird cages - the bird section of the pet shop is also a good idea to look for natural treats, eg. millet, flax, rice risps, dari etc.   The houses are built from an IKEA Fira set.
