The "Scala dei Turchi" from the past of piracy raids by the Saracens, Arab and, by convention, Turkish, is a rocky type, which rises over the sea along the coast of Realmonte, near Porto Empedocle, in the province of Agrigento. By time it became a tourist attraction for both the singularity of the cliff, white and peculiar forms and for the successfull novel of Inspector Salvo Montalbano written by Andrea Camilleri, where this place is mentioned. Submitted to UNESCO in August 2007
