Not one Democrat in either the House or Senate voted for the 14th Amendment declaring that former slaves were full citizens in which they lived and were therefor entitled to all the rights and privileges of other citizens in that time.
(Also, Democrats were the ones who violently resisted the integration of schools - remember Orval Faubus? And kept the Jim Crow laws in place and other shameful practices.) And, suddenly, the Democrats accuse the Conservatives of being racist. Please!
