These outfits were known as the poodle-like skirts that were very thin at the waist and pouffy at the bottom. Because skirts became so popular in the 1950s women matched them with plain shirts that were tucked in under the skirt or blazer-like tops that overlapped the top of the skirt.
I chose this picture because her outfit is simple and sophisticated. She looks very polished because of how simple the dress is. The hat and the gloves makes it look elegant and very couture. The two diamond buttons add a unique touch that makes the dress more one of a kind.
