Staff Sgt. Timothy R. McGill, 30, of Ramsey, N.J., assigned to 2nd Battalion, 19th Special Forces Group, Middletown, R.I., was one of three soldiers who died September 21, 2013, at Forward Operating Base Shank, Afghanistan of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked their unit with small arms fire while conducting range training.
Army SSG Matthew Q. McClintock, 30, of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Died January 5, 2016, supporting Operation Freedom's Sentinel. Assigned to to 1st Battalion, 19th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Buckley, Washington. Died of wounds sustained when hit by enemy small-arms fire while conducting combat operations in Marjah District, Afghanistan.
Army WO1. Sean W. Mullen, 39, of Dover, Delaware. Died June 2, 2013, serving during Operation Enduring Freedom. Assigned to 2nd Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Died in Lashkar Gah, Helmand Province, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.
